According to the U.S. Department of Labor employment for massage therapists is expected to increase 20 percent from 2006 to 2016, faster than average for all occupations.Between August 2007 and June 2008, a fifth of adult Americans (20 percent) had a massage at least once.
Today's Massage therapists are predominantly female (88%).The average age of a massage therapists is around 40.One of the major advantage is they can work flexi hours and may end up working 20-22 hrs a week and earning at an average of $ 55 - $ 75 for an hour of Massage which doesnt include the tips.
That makes this profession highly demanding.
